Fostering Global Learning: Undiknas International Students Visit PT Alove Bali
As part of its commitment to academic collaboration and applied research, PT Alove Bali hosted international students from Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) for a structured study visit to its Aloe Vera plantation and production facility in Bali.
The visit took place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM and formed part of Undiknas’ international program aimed at providing applied industry exposure for foreign students. The focus of the visit was quality control systems, sustainable production, and natural based product development.
Applied Learning Through Industry Exposure
A group of 11 international students participated in the visit. The program was structured to complement academic coursework by demonstrating how Aloe Vera based raw materials are cultivated, processed, and managed at an industrial level.
Students were introduced to the operational workflow, from upstream agricultural practices to downstream processing and quality assurance. The session emphasized how theory is translated into practice within a regulated production environment.
Aloe Vera Cultivation and Raw Material Management
Students observed organic Aloe Vera cultivation in Bali’s volcanic soil and learned how environmental conditions influence plant quality and yield.
Topics covered included:
- Organic cultivation methods
- Soil and water management
- Harvesting protocols designed to maintain plant integrity
- Traceability of raw materials
These discussions provided context for understanding agricultural inputs in natural product manufacturing.
Processing Systems and Quality Control
The visit continued at the production facility, where students examined Aloe Vera processing and quality control procedures.
The production team explained:
- Raw material handling and sanitation standards
- Processing techniques used to maintain chemical stability and nutrient retention
- Batch consistency and documentation practices
- Quality control measures aligned with international standards
Students engaged in technical discussions regarding risk management, standardization, and product consistency.
Sustainability, Innovation, and Research Relevance
Beyond production, the visit addressed how PT Alove Bali integrates sustainability into operational and innovation strategies. Students discussed how natural resources can be developed responsibly while meeting commercial and regulatory requirements.
Key themes included:
- Sustainable sourcing of raw materials
- Product development driven by local biodiversity
- Integration of cultural knowledge into innovation processes
- Long term environmental and economic sustainability
These topics are directly relevant to academic research in sustainability studies, agricultural science, product development, and supply chain management.
Industry Context and Global Applications
The study visit offered insight into how Indonesian natural based industries participate in the global wellness and ingredient market. Students gained perspective on how regional agricultural products are positioned within international supply chains through quality assurance and sustainable practices.
This exposure supports comparative research and cross cultural studies in business, sustainability, and natural product science.
